About

Krishna Panthi earned an M.S. in Computer Science from Clemson University in 2026 with a thesis co-chaired by Dr. Carlos Toxtli and Dr. Vidya Samadi. Working in Clemson's Hydroinformatics Lab, Krishna built AquaCrop-Richards, an open-source crop model that couples the Richards equation for soil-water dynamics with FAO AquaCrop (Irrigation and Drainage, 2026), and used it as an environment to compare deep reinforcement learning algorithms for irrigation scheduling. Krishna also contributed to deep learning for riverine flood forecasting and to HydroQuantum, a quantum-driven package for hydrological simulation.

Krishna's team won the Most Viable Product award at LPL Financial's 2026 multi-university AI hackathon. Before Clemson, Krishna worked as a software engineer at MutualArt and PensionPro and earned a B.E. in Computer Engineering from Tribhuvan University (Pulchowk Campus), Nepal.
